Platinum is deemed to be the most precious of the various metals used in jewellery and is the most costly. Not only is it the rarest, it is also the purest, not needing any significant proportion (usually only 5%) of additional metals alloyed with it to make it workable.

It is naturally "white" and it is very "strong".
